Michael is a guide and curator of all the holiday programmes, and is the mastermind behind the Experiences Caribbean brand. An outdoor enthusiast, he has been exploring Dominica’s outdoors since the 1990’s.
A Chemical Engineer by profession, Michael has also been trained in Project Management and Entrepreneurship. He was the Product Development Specialist and part of the team that built the Waitukubuli National Trail. He has also been a Guest Lecturer with the Seabourn Cruises.
Michael is a Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) Certified Trainer of Tour Guide Trainers, and is the in-house guru for all jungle trekking issues. As Chief Planner he is in continuous contact with Dominica’s tourism product, and leads the team of service providers and community partners.
We are local, small, and family owned. We know the tourism product very well, and are passionate about what we do. For us, small is beautiful, and we pay great attention to quality, and to the needs of each individual traveler.
The Experiences Caribbean offerings are curated, and in response to special and customized requests. We use our deep and intimate knowledge of our island to deliver on every request. Services cater to the individual components or the entire vacation package including transfers, hotel accommodation, and tours.
We carry (cruise industry specified) liability insurance, and are licensed to operate by the Discover Dominica Authority, the operational arm of the Ministry of Tourism. We are Associate Members of the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA), and have been shore excursion contract suppliers for the past 18 years. We are also members of the Adventure Travel Trade Association.
The Experiences Caribbean brand uses community partners who operate as area specific guides sharing local stories and traditions with the guests. We employ total transparency in our pricing, and remuneration to these local service providers exceeds 85 % of budgeted expenses.
